Despite being a Peace Corps Volunteer in Yemen and a Fulbright Scholar in Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Kyrgyzstan, Yahya Frederickson has lived most of his life in Moorhead, MN where he is an English professor at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He has received grants and awards from McKnight Foundation, The Loft, Lakes Region Art Council, and The Academy of American Poets. His poems have appeared in Arts & Letters, Black Warrior Review, Crab Orchard Review, Cream City Review, CutBank, Cutthroat, Flyway, Hanging Loose, The Laurel Review, The Louisville Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Quarter After Eight, Quarterly West, RHINO, The Southern Review, WLA Journal, Water~Stone Review, and Witness.
