After twelve years as an ER doctor, Rebecca K.S. Ansari shelved her scrubs to write magical and mysterious worlds for middle grade readers. Her debut novel, The Missing Piece of Charlie O’Reilly was a Minnesota Book Award finalist, an ALA 2020 Notable Children’s Book nominee, and a Junior Library Guild selection. Her second novel, The In-Between, was selected as a 2022 ALA Notable Children’s Book and received starred reviews from Kirkus, Publishers Weekly, and School Library Journal. When Ansari isn’t writing, she is joyously biking and skiing, begrudgingly running, or escaping “up north” in Minnesota with her husband, four boys, two huge dogs, and a stack of good books.
