Mary Quirk
As a freelance writer since 1997, Mary Quirk has authored book chapters, news and feature articles, and educational materials for healthcare professionals and people of all ages. In addition, she served as a public health writer for the Immunization Action Coalition for more than 15 years and a communications specialist for the National Foundation for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has a B.S. degree in molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Upon graduation, she worked as a research scientist in the division of infectious diseases at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis/St. Paul) Medical School.
